Visit to Nyayo Stadium: CHAN African Games August Football Camp

Faulu School young footballers in the Nyayo Stadium changing room during the CHAN African Games

August 2025

As part of this year’s August football camp, our young footballers spent the day at Nyayo Stadium during the CHAN African Games, walking through the same changing rooms used by the competing national teams and standing under the tournament’s own signage. Between drills, the camp also took them through a heritage exhibition nearby, where they came face to face with the region’s wildlife and the rangers who protect it — a different kind of pitch altogether.

Moments like this stretch what a football camp can be. Seeing a stadium built for continental competition up close gives a young one something to aim for beyond the next match, and pairing that with a morning spent learning about conservation is exactly the kind of holistic, curiosity-led experience we try to build into every trip. It is one thing to be told the world is bigger than the classroom; it is another to stand inside it.
