Roller Skating at Faulu

Balance, nerve and a great deal of laughing — learners start at the rail and finish gliding the length of the court.

Why roller skating is part of the week

Roller skating runs on the school court under supervision, with full protective gear and a clear progression: standing, balancing, moving, stopping, and only then any real speed. Learners begin holding the rail and every one of them lets go eventually.

It is the activity our learners talk about most, and it teaches something specific: how to fall, get up and try again without any fuss. Watching a nervous learner cross the court unaided for the first time is one of the more satisfying things that happens here.

Balance, posture and core stability
Gliding, turning and stopping safely
Full protective gear and supervised sessions
Confidence and resilience after a fall
