Student Exhibition Day

Every class at Faulu set up a table to show a term of project work, from science models to art pieces and Kiswahili storybooks. Parents walked the halls asking learners to explain what they had made and why, and the day closed with awards for the most creative projects in each class.

The exhibition is one of our favourite fixtures of the term, because it puts the whole of a class’s work on show rather than just a test score. Teachers choose projects that let each learner explain their own thinking in their own words, which is exactly the kind of confident, hands-on learning our Competency-Based Education approach is built around. Families are welcome to walk through and ask every learner about their table — it is often the proudest five minutes of their term.
